Brownie Day

We had a great time this past Saturday at Brownie Day! The scouts earned their WOW Journey, which was all about the Wonders of Water! Forty-five girls and several volunteers attended the event. The scouts made new friends, earned a Journey, and are pros at water conservation.

Septmember Meeting and Beyond



 



Our first official troop meeting of the year is on Monday, September 14th from 6-8 pm!

Just a few things to note:

Cathryn is our snack helper. The schedule can be found by clicking on the tab labled "snacks".

Please bring $20 for dues. This will cover registration and badges.  

We will be earning our Celebrating Community Badge.  The girls will have a piece of homework to bring back to the November Meeting.  

We will also be earning our Potter Badge Thursday, November 19th from 6-8 pm at Upaint Pottery in Greenwood.  This event is being paid with our troop funds. It will be a fun night!

Just a reminder that our troop is hosting Brownie Day on Saturday, October 3, 2015 form 11 am-1 pm at South Creek.  I need all the volunteers that can help so please let me know if you can join us!

Southeastway's Annual Celebration of Bugs!
Participants will visit several stations such as a Walk-through Butterfly Tent, Cricket Cafe, Critter Crafts, the Insect Zoo and lots more. *I can take three additional scouts in my vehicle if you are unable to come. First come first serve!Scouts that attend this event will earn their Bug Badge!  

This is a great family event! It does not take four hours to get through the stations, but I recommend arriving closer to 1 pmas they only allow 2,000 participants.

Build A Bear Meeting



Monday, May 18th we will have our monthly meeting at Build A Bear to celebrate our cookie sale season! We will build a bear, pick put an outfit, and grab a snack! Please have your daughter bring money so she can pick out and purchase her own snack! Our Build A Bear party will begin at 6pm if you wish to meet us there. If you do not wish to attend, please drop your daughter off at my house at 5:30.

Summer Camp Information








Everyone should have received a 2015 Girl Scout Summer Camp guide in the mail.  I plan on attending session #2 as a leader from June 15-19.  The theme is Disney Days.  This is a day camp with an overnight on Thursday.  I will do my best to have all of our girls in the same unit.

Let it Bake-Earning our Snack Badge

At our last meeting we put together toiletry bags for those in need and earned our snack badge.  The girls made cupcakes and frosting from SCRATCH!  They had a blast despite their leader failing to purchase cupcake liners resulting in some funny looking cupcakes!  Sophie brought fancy glasses and sparkling juice to complete this princess snack!
